What is the full form of PTO?
1) PTO - Please Turn Over
Often we find PTO word printed on the exam paper, book, newspaper, diary, magazine, etc. So here the term PTO stands for Please Turn Over or Page Turn Over, which directly means 'please turn the page and go to the next page. Meaning that the person who is going to write wants to tell you that the information is available on the next page also read it. Another use of this is if you are writing an answer, letter, or anything and it did not end in one page so you wrote the rest on the next page, you can write a small PTO at the bottom of the page to address this to the reader. By doing this, the reader will definitely see the page by turning it.
2) PTO - Power Take-Off
The full form of PTO is Power Take Off in the field of vehicles. This is a mechanism mostly used in heavy-duty vehicles like tractors and trucks. It is used to transmit power from the running engine to an element attached to the vehicle or to an external machine. It is a rotating shaft which is mounted at the bottom of the vehicle. In the truck, this shaft with the help of the engine gives power to the rear wheels and in the case of the tractor gives power to the external machines.
3) PTO - Privilege Ticket Order
PTO stands for Privilege Ticket Order, which is related to railway employee's passenger tickets. PTO is an authority issued for railway employees, which benefits them by paying only one-third of the payment of any railway passenger ticket. PTO set are given annually to the employees by the Railway. This set is of 2 types, out of which you can choose either 4 full sets or 8 half sets. (Full set means arrival and returning journey included and half set means either arrival or returning journey included).
4) PTO - Personal Time Off
PTO also stands for Personal Time Off, also known as Paid Time Off or Planned Time Off. PTO is a policy, the benefit of which is in favour of the employees. It is a company-approved policy that allows the employee to take leave without any impact on his wages. But the reason for leave should be sickness, marriage, bereavement, vacation, or sometimes for personal time. The employee can avail of the benefit of this policy at any time as per his wish.
