Structure of uPHC
Every primary health center is built under population coverage so that health-related benefits are provided on the basis of a limited population. The population coverage of a uPHC varies from 50 to 60 thousand. Larger cities tend to have more populations, so these cities have more than one uPHCs and it takes an Urban Community Health Center to dominate five such uPHCs. An Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery is available for areas with a population of up to 10,000.
Why uPHC is?
People living in the city does not mean that they will be rich. There are many types of people living in the city, some of them are rich and some are poor. So those who are poor people do not able to get their health-related treatment in private hospitals because of less money. Therefore, to take care of the health of such people is the purpose of uPHC.
