Earlier, IRCTC was completely dominated by the Government of India, but in 2019, IRCTC was launched on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), then the Government of India had 87% on it and the remaining shares were being traded. In 2020, another 20% of its holding was reduced from the government, so that now the government is only 67% shareholder of IRCTC.
