What is the full form of HRIDAY?
The full form of HRIDAY is Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (Hindi - शहरी विरासत विकास और विस्तार योजना). This is a scheme in India which is responsible for the conservation of historical heritage sites in urban areas and works under the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The scheme was launched in New Delhi on January 21, 2015 by the Government of India.

Work of HRIDAY scheme
The government is going to spend Rs. 500 crore for this scheme and 12 cities have been selected which will be rejuvenated and develop under HRIDAY.

The aim of HRIDAY is to improve the planning in these cities, improve their economy, and take care of whatever heritage structure exists here. Under this scheme cleaning of cities, road construction, good transport facilities, and good service will be provided to the citizens.
HRIDAY will be attached to the tourism ministry's Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme to improve infrastructure at pilgrimage sites in India.
